Welcome to Globe Radio, "The Hit Music Channel"

Support Globe Radio

Read on to learn how you can play a part in strengthening the Globe Radio program.

What we do for students:  Salt Lake Community College has an unparalleled commitment to excellence for its students. Globe Radio, SLCC's internet radio station, is a prime example of this commitment. For over seven years, Globe Radio has provided students interested in audio and radio production with dozens of exciting opportunities to learn about the trade. Radio students get to participate in a wide range of activities which utilize vital skills in the industry.

Students produce all forms of live and recorded programming, including: music requests, variety talk shows, remotes from SLCC campus events, news updates, acoustic performances, commercial spots and public service announcements (PSAs), and numerous home and away games for SLCC Athletics. In order for Globe Radio to continue improving the program and helping our students develop the skills to succeed, we ask for your help.

Where we stand:  Globe Radio is feeling the strain of a difficult economic climate. Despite the present strength of our formidable station, some critical components to further enhance the capabilities of the station are presently lacking.

How students can help:  The easiest way to help our students succeed is by spreading the word about Globe Radio. Tell your friends, family members, classmates, and neighbors to check out the station and learn about our mission to help students. We'll provide you with an online form at the bottom of the page to help you do just that.

Some of our greatest support comes from our listeners. Your support gives us further cause to secure additional resources that will continue to provide students the ability to learn and practice the skills being taught in the classrooms and on the air.

How the community can help:  As another way to solve this problem and to build relationships in our community, Globe Radio may consider trade agreements for the following goods and services: purchasing and maintenance of studio and remote equipment, mobile phone service and travel expenses for additional sports coverage, promotional items for studio contest giveaways, funding for hiring additional students for staff positions, and many more uses.

Globe Radio has the ability to collaborate with businesses, non-profits, student clubs and other organizations in order to enhance student development. Real-world industry projects can be an essential opportunity for students to gain experience in audio and radio production. Collaborations like these also build critical community support for the Globe Radio program. Please give us a call at (801) 957-4537 or email us at globeradio@slcc.edu for more information on how you can team up with Globe Radio.

It all makes a difference!  We at Globe Radio believe that community involvement is an important factor for the success of students and the program. As such, any level of support to our program will have an immediate and profound impact on students beginning their careers in the radio industry.
